The national flag of Zimbabwe is a striking design featuring seven horizontal stripes of green, yellow, red, and black, with a black-bordered white triangle on the hoist side, and a yellow bird superimposed on a five-pointed red star, centered on the triangle. The green stripe represents the agriculture and rural areas of Zimbabwe, while the yellow stripe symbolizes the nation's mineral wealth. The red stripe stands for the blood shed during the country's struggle for independence, and the black stripe represents the heritage and ethnicity of the people. The black-edged white triangle embodies peace and unity, while the bird on a star, adapted from Zimbabwe's national emblem, represents hope for a bright future and national progress. The coat of arms of Zimbabwe on a waving white flag
The coat of arms of Zimbabwe is a richly symbolic emblem with intricate details that symbolize the nation's heritage, aspirations, and values. The green shield prominently features the remaining ruins of Great Zimbabwe, a medieval city that serves as a powerful symbol of the country's historical legacy. Blue and white wavy lines represent the importance of water for abundance, while the rifle and anchor behind the shield symbolize the nation's transition from a period of war to peace. Two kudus supporting the shield signify the unity of purpose among the various ethnic groups in Zimbabwe. The earth mound features plants representing the sources of food and clothing. The green shield itself represents the fertility of the country's soil and water. A wreath in gold and green signifies the significance of mining and agriculture in safeguarding the national economy. A star, tinted red to represent the nation's suffering and the imperative to prevent its recurrence, is an ancient symbol of hope for the future. The Great Zimbabwe Bird, a cherished cultural artifact, is a testament to the nation's enduring pride and identity. This emblem eloquently weaves together history, culture, and national values, encapsulating the essence of Zimbabwe.

When the Zimbabwean flag is displayed vertically, you don't rotate the bird and the star.
